i won a drawing at my local PNC Bank for a chance at free football
tickets. along with the chance, I scored a big steel bucket full of
munchies and toys. K is going to dig this even though I didn't
win the tickets (they were inside one bucket among all the ones given
out at all the area branches.)
these guys love me. They recognize me when I come in, partially
because I came in shortly after they changed over from Riggs and said
how much I like the service I've gotten from PNC over the years. They
probably hadn't heard a lot of happy things about the changeover at
that point. but I don't know if they know me by name or not, although
after today, three of them do, all because they were tickled to see
that I was the one that won.
I always introduce myself to people there I haven't met before. I've
learned that by currying favor with the people who handle your money,
you're more likely to get problems resolved quickly when they happen.
I'm hoping this will pay off when it comes time to do something that
involves checking my very spotty credit.
But for now, I'll settle for the bucket.
